First kisses, and last snow
I work up to the sound of someone shuffling
snow (by the way, I can never use the word shuffle again without wanting to dance). It didn’t gel with
my perception, which is that it’s supposed to be spring. But I guess it’s the last
hurrah before spring actually arrives. I did, after all, write a poem about it the
other day…
However, walking to work today I found
myself in a wonderland. I actually took a detour to work just to
snap some photos of the wonders of the powdery white that covered the trees and streets.
On my way home it was clear that this is a “last chance thing”, much of the snow had melted already. For some
reason my feet strayed from the paths formed by many people on this quite
ordinary Thursday, and I formed a new path in the slushy, wet
snow. Knowing it will be a while until next
winter, I appreciated this C.S. Lewis-like moment even
more.
Walking home I also thought of first kisses.
The anticipation. The longing. Looking at the person you want to kiss, trying
to pick the perfect moment. A moment to remember. Not concentrating properly on
what that person is saying, because all you can think of are those lips. I have had some amazing first kisses so far, and since I am
single, I am sure I will have some more.
The kissable story behind this well known photograph can be found here.
Being in the right relationship, and kissing
that someone special is beyond compare, I know. But realising that I will have
those butterflies-in-the-belly moments at least one more time for the first
time, makes me smile.
Appreciating what is right now, in this
moment, and also to look forward to good things.., is truly part of
enjoying life. Sometimes it's little things like conglomerations of frozen ice
crystals falling through the Earth's atmosphere that makes you aware of
how special a walk to work can be.

www Inspiration
I love photography, painting and drawing as well as writing. However, sometimes I just can't find the inspiration within myself and then I have to search elsewhere. I love museums and old antique book stores, but let's face it.. the Internet is so much closer.
